I don't wear bright colors very often, but I like the color blocking trend. Here's a muted version I put together from my closet and felt good in. The GAP Body tank is pre-blocked (ahh, lazy!). I have it in two colors; it's as soft as jammies.
I paired the top with a simple black layering tee and favorite gray pencil skirt. The silver square pendant is thrifted, as is the green bangle. Simple and Visible for a cheerful day at the office. (Disclosure: This outfit was pre-recorded, as in real time I am in The West Village, NYC, in a cozy sweater and jeans, drinking English Breakfast tea!)
| A neutrals kind of woman tries her hand at color blocking. |
| The scarf/shawl comes in handy for frigid offices. You know what I'm talking about. |

ReplyDeleteI really like this outfit. The colors all blend together so nicely :)
ReplyDeletem.
Total success on your colour blocking! But I would love to see that smile of contentment on your face while sipping tea in the West Village...
ReplyDeletebeautiful scarf! Hope you are having fun in NYC.
ReplyDeleteI like the color blocking a lot but I do not like the tank top.
ReplyDeleteEven with the t-shirt underneath it's too casual for someone who isn't at a rock concert in 100 degree heat, plus it doesn't do anything to play up your pretty-darn-good-for a woman-over50 figure.
How about a shirt of that color in a more figure-flattering style on your thrift list?
Again ....so jealous of you being in West Village sipping tea in a sweater!! Have a wonderful time and keep color blocking...it looks great!
ReplyDeleteVery pretty! Soft & comfy!
ReplyDeleteI hope you have a wonderful time in NYC!
I really like it with the addition of the scarf! Also, clothes as soft as jammies are wonderful!

Oh, I love it! I've been digging putting a tee under a tank, too. In fact, I put a tee under a tank dress for today's post, too! I hope you're having fun in my neck of the woods :) Your plans sound like a blast! Enjoy!!!

I am intrigued by color blocking. Maybe I have done it and not realized it, but now all of a sudden I am reading about it everywhere and I want to understand it more! At any rate, you look great! Thanks for your blog; it's a great resource, and it always cheers me up!

ReplyDeleteI just started following you, and I love the Visible Mondays! I'm so inspired by everyone's style, and can't wait to go shopping and revamp my own closet.
ReplyDeleteFor Visible Monday, do you have to have a blog? I have an Etsy shop and a Facebook page for it, but no blog. I'd love to participate (when I decide on a really fab outfit).
